Assignments/ Assignment Expectations

Please refer to each student's planner and homework folder to access homework assignments.

In Literacy, the majority of assignments will be done in class. Homework will almost always consist of reading for 20 minutes a day along with reading logs, writing assignments, and reinforcing skills learned in class. Skills block will include spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary with both in-class and at-home assignments. Spelling words, along with sentences or paragraphs for dictation will be given to the student each week. Students are expected to study their spelling words at home. There will also be additional assignments and final projects for each genre studied to support their growth as readers and writers. Students will be given a due date as well as a rubric to indicate the requirements of the assignment.
